Planning to travel outside the country? Well, what you should know is that booking a Cab is not the same everywhere. The fact advanced booking is better than calling out  cab service to pick you from particular point is not in dispute – when exactly to pre-book a cab however is varied depending on the city you intend to visit.

In Dubai for example, booking a cab in advance during peak hours is not an option. According to an advisory by the Road and Transport Authority (RTA) given early in 2014, the period between 7AM – 10AM and 5PM – 8PM are not the times to book a cab in advance.

The argument is that you need to be sure to get  particular cab when you book but that cannot be guaranteed by most cab service providers during such peak hours. Despite the fact that it’s varied when not to book a cab in advance in most cities, you are way better off if you first consult at the airport information desk or with friends, relatives, and other tourists about the ‘city’s’ peak hours so you can avoid those.

According to the travel advisory, it is also important to confirm what time the cab is available to pick you and whether there are extra costs to the local advance booking services. One more fact from the advisory is that pre-booking should ideally be done two or more hours before the exact time you need the cab so the service can be guaranteed.
